23?

Disney's new campaign is Are You 23? I discovered it on the Disney website by accident. I wanted to see what their new promotions are because I will be in Disneyland soon. I was taken to a page where huge letters reading "Are you 23?" flashed onto the screen. Then Tinker Bell flew onto the screen and numbers appeared counting down to March 10. I thought I was missing something so I Googled the phrase and it turns out that nobody knows what this is about.

I really don't think it has to do with age because there is a place for you to enter your email address to "Be the first to know." This makes me think that you either have to qualify somehow or be the 23rd person to...something.

There were some interesting theories about DVD releases and that the Disney brothers started making cartoons in 1923. There are also some really far fetched guesses like 2 + 3 = 5 so that means a fifth park will be opening. The Disney Company is doing a really good job keeping this one a secret and therefore creating intrigue. I know I'm interested. I'm hoping it has something to do with the parks because it will hopefully benefit my up coming trip!

Not to mention 23 is my most favorite number...

I'm thinking about doing some research to see if I can come up with any viable guesses.

Spring Break

So originally, I wanted to go to Alaska for spring break to visit a friend. I was getting ready to buy the tickets when I saw the weather report. Snow. I hate the cold. I hate the snow. I hate the dark. Then just for fun I decided to see what the airfare prices are for LA and that lead to a few more hours of research and I discovered that I can spend 4 nights in LA, 3 days in Disneyland for the same price as going to Alaska. Not to mention the fact that there is sunshine and warmth in California, two things I need desperately. So now I'm in the process of planning my Disney vacation. I'm pretty darn excited.

I love movies and have recently discovered my love for movie scores and with that discovery another. My favorite composer is John Williams. His style is different from the music of say Hans Zimmer (another favorite of mine). I like John Williams because his music has a more classic and romantic sound. Some of my favorites are Indiana Jones, Hook and Jurassic Park.

I like Hans for a his prominent base lines, darker sounds and modern sound. I suggest Pirates of the Caribbean:At World's End, The Holiday and Dark Knight. They're opposites really.

Apparently, it's weird for someone to have a favorite composer, or so I've been told. Actually, I've learned that many people don't even know what a score is! Nonsense. Here, educate yourself!


In case you were wondering, my favorite director is Steven Speilberg.
